(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 7 - The regional administrative tribunal (TAR) of Veneto has ruled that a crossdressing Venice policeman sacked in 2005 for offending the police's moral code after going out for a walk in women's clothing on three occasions must now be compensated with the back pay due to him, Il Gazzettino local newspaper reported Tuesday.
    The officer went out for a walk in Venice in women's clothing on three occasions in the autumn of 2005 and was first suspended and then sacked because of what authorities called "reprehensible conduct, denoting a lack of sense of honour and morals".
    The man said he was neither gay nor transgender but just enjoyed wearing women's clothing at times when he was off duty.
    His higher-ups ruled he had breached the public decency requirements of police officers. (ANSA).
