In Sofia annual Copeam meeting on 'Media and global instability'

Event brings together operators and executives

(ANSAmed) - ROMA, 24 GIU - "Media and global instabilities: what contribution to peace?" is the topic of the 29th annual Conference of COPEAM (Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators), taking place on Friday 24 June in Sofia, Bulgaria, upon invitation of the Bulgarian National Television BNT.

The event - which will bring together senior radio and television executives, operators from the audiovisual and cultural fields and institutional representatives of the Euro-Mediterranean area - started with the greetings of the President of BNT, Emil Koshlukov, and the welcome note of Robert Šveb (HRT, Croatia) and Claudio Cappon in their respective roles as President and Secretary General of COPEAM.

The general topic of debate was introduced by Professor Hussein Amin, Director of the Kamal Adham Center for Television & Digital Journalism (American University in Cairo, Egypt) and deepened in the following panel moderated by Evgenia Atanassova (BNT), in which prominent experts at international level will speak - Adrienne van Heteren (Institute For War & Peace Reporting, United Kingdom), Irina Nedeva (Association of European Journalists AEJ-Bulgaria), Nicolas Boissez (Fondation Hirondelle, Switzerland), and Mohanned Arabiat (Generations for Peace, Jordan), the latter connected from Amman.

A session dedicated to the international awards promoted by COPEAM in 2021 and 2022 follows, with the screening of the winning videos of the prizes ERN-MED Mediterranean News Exchange, Plural + Special Award, ICO Solutions and À première Vue.

The works will end in the afternoon with the 28th members' General Assembly, in which the governing bodies of the Association will be renewed for the next two-year term.
