Estonia: agreement not unanimously but 'better than nothing'

Budapest still opposing new sanctions on oil

30 May, 18:31
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 30 - "It is important to have sanctions and of course it would be better if everyone agrees, for this reason we are still working" but "even if someone is out, it would be better than nothing," said the Estonian premier, Kaja Kallas, before the European Council. At the Council EU leaders are discussing the embargo on oil which should be included in the sixth package of sanctions. Hungary is opposing it. "We must continue to support Ukraine in every way", with "humanitarian, military, but also financial aid, we must isolate Russia and this means sanctions. We are working so that everyone agrees and we hope to succeed", Kallas added. (ANSA).
