Architecture: Trieste studio wins the OHS award in Slovenia

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, JUN 9 - The Trieste-based architecture firm Waltritsch a+u has won the OHS Prize in Slovenia, which an audience (not an expert jury) awards for the best architectural achievements. Among the nearly 60 projects nominated by a jury of experts in public buildings, the project that received the most votes from the public was the Slovenian Damir Feigl - NŠK Library, designed by Waltritsch a+u | urban architects from Trieste, Italy, led by architect Dimitri Waltritsch. The library was designed by Max Fabiani in the Trgovski Dom at Gorizia in 1905. For the first time, the experts have selected a project outside Slovenia's borders in the award's thirteen editions. The competition was part of the architectural festival OHS - Open Houses of Slovenia / Odprte Hiše Slovenije, part of Open House Worldwide. This network brings together more than 50 cities and regions worldwide, including Milan, Naples, and Rome, to spread direct knowledge of quality architecture to a broad audience.
