Slovenia: fuel prices to increase today by more than 10%

On stations outside highways, on motorways prices liberalised

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 20 - Starting today, the price of ordinary gasoline and diesel in Slovenia will increase by approximately 20 cents per litre, more than 10%, the Slovenian news agency STA informed today.

The new price of regular gasoline outside the highways in Slovenia will reach 1.755 euros per litre, up from 1.56 euro, while diesel will cost 1.848 euros per litre, up from 1.668. The new prices will remain in effect until July 4.

The new government in Slovenia agreed last week to reintroduce a fuel cap system at service stations outside the highway network, while fully liberalising fuel pricing at pumps along the motorways, STA recalled.

The anticipated price increase has caused a nationwide rush to gas stations, with many stores running out of fuel over the weekend and today, the agency said. (ANSA).
