Czech Rep.: government sets a cap on energy prices

To protect households from inflation

13 September, 15:47
(ANSA) - PRAGUE, SEP 13 - The Czech government has decided to cap electricity and gas prices for the coming year. The cabinet adopted this measure last night to protect households from soaring energy prices in the wake of reduced Russian gas supplies to Europe due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and EU sanctions against Moscow. The government of Prime Minister Petr Fiala said it is proceeding so that its national plan goes hand in hand with the European-level solution prepared by the European Commission. (ANSA).
