(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 13 SET - "Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia, and Croatia are making a joint effort to transform their economies by directing them, through innovative solutions, towards decarbonization. By initiating the North Adriatic cross-border Hydrogen Valley project with the other partners, our Region aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2045. The clean energy sector will attract significant investment, so the Region is ready to share the expertise, scientific and industrial assets, and experience in its territory to make the hydrogen valley come true." Friuli Venezia Giulia's Environment and Energy Councillor Fabio Scoccimarro said during a meeting of partners and stakeholders interested in the North Adriatic cross-border Hydrogen Valley.

The event, held in Zagreb, was attended, among others, by the Undersecretary for Economy and Sustainable Development of Croatia, Ivo Milatic, and the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia, Tina Seršen.

The governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, although unable to attend the event, emphasized that "ours is one of the five Italian Regions to be part of the national hydrogen flagship project." Then he highlighted that "the ambitious initiative carried out with Slovenia and Croatia is the only one of its kind in Europe and represents a cornerstone of the Region's action to promote access to renewable and sustainable energy sources. These elements take on greater significance in light of the severe energy crisis resulting from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine." (ANSA).
