Ukraine fighting for freedom from brutal aggression-Meloni
Respecting every people is foundation of peace-Italian PM
09 November, 18:11 (ANSA) - ROME, NOV 9 - Ukraine is fighting for freedom from
the brutal Russian aggression, Premier Giorgia Meloni said
Wednesday. "It's a struggle for freedom, the one that the
Ukrainian people is carrying forward to defend its nation from a
brutal aggression," the premier said in a message on Freedom
Day. "Respecting the freedom of every people is the foundation
of international peace. "Freedom is a founding value of our
Italian, European, and Western identity, which not only can we
not forget but which it is our task and duty to celebrate each
day, starting with the occasion of November 9." Declared by then
US President George W. Bush, World Freedom Day was created to
commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989.
