Latvia: new stalemate in government formation
Prime Minister 'in pectore' Kariņš gives allies ultima
10 November, 13:12 (ANSA) - VILNIUS, NOV 10 - Latvia's outgoing prime minister
and "in pectore" premier Krišjānis Kariņš said he expects a
clear answer from the United List about the precise goals to be
pursued by the new governing coalition.
Commenting on the recent stalemate in negotiations 40 days after the election results, Kariņš said he was convinced that "the only way to break the ice is to proceed with the model I proposed, take responsibility for the 14 spheres of government and start working on a timely government program."
