EU-Ukraine: air transport agreement signed

National aviation market registered 9.8 million passengers

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 12 - The European Union and Ukraine have signed an air transport agreement today, opening the way for a 'Common Aviation Area' between the EU and Ukraine, the Commission informed on Tuesday. The agreement is based on "common high standards in important areas such as aviation safety, security and air traffic management" and "it will foster market access and offer new opportunities for consumers and airlines on both sides," the European Commission said.

Ukraine is an important aviation market for the EU,, with 9.8 million passengers. (ANSA).
